Laugh-out-loud evenings, diverse comedians, and vibrant atmosphere
About the name - Back of the Bus Nae Mair
Back of the Bus Nae Mair.
Why is it called this, I hear you asking? It’s a nod to Rosa Parks and the Birmingham Bus Boycott here in the UK. And, well, it’s here in Glasgow so a wee bit of Glaswegian patter is needed in the title too. The nights will prioritise and platform comedians from diverse backgrounds. Each month there will be open mic spots, some very experienced comics, some guests, and of course, a headliner.

Tia Boyd
Headliner
Tia is a Glasgow-based queer performer and artist blending comedy, storytelling, and poetry — all delivered with raw ADHD energy that leaves you thrilled… and a little unsettled.

Vanessa Correia
A Deadpan Disney Princess whose face does not quite match the name and an accent that doesn't match anything. She shares observations between Mumbai/Goa/Scotland, and some tips for Nessie spotting.

Eliott Simpson
Eliott Simpson is an eccentric autistic asexual and critically acclaimed comic, having gigged all across the UK and USA for over a decade! Creator of the hit sell-out shows "The Diversity Quota" and "Dr.Bonk's Macarbaret", Performer on both BBC Scotland and BBC Radio, and nominee of 4 Proud Scotland Awards!
Within the vast sea of sexy & raunchy comedy, Simpson is the only comic who can give you a coming out story without the cumming! With surreal one-liners and witty wordplay, he's one of the most peculiar and unique acts on the circuit!

Sylas Shaw
Born and raised in Transylvania, Romania he moved to the United Kingdom at 19 years old to pursue a career in acting. After a roller coaster of adventures he finished his formal training in December 2017. He has been active as of 2019 both on stage and screen. His interests include drama, comedy, action, horror both in theatre as well as film and TV.

Roxanne McQueen
Roxanne is a lovely lady from an ordinary working class family. She has two hidden disabilities. She's climbed the ladder professionally and is now blossoming in the world of stand up comedy. At "Back of The Bus Nae Mair" she will not only be entertaining us but will be sharing her journey.

Matthew Hayhow
Opening Act
Since rolling onto the comedy circuit, Matthew Hayhow has taken his special brand of charm, clever jokes and unique point of view to the Edinburgh Fringe, BBC Radio Scotland, and venues all around the country.

Foxie Brown
Foxie describes herself as Afro-Scots and she draws on her Congolese and Scottish experiences in her comedy.n She says, “Life is too short to be anything but fantastically fabulous: “Be bold, be you” and don’t let anybody tell you how to live your life”. Hold your pen and write your own story”.

Colette Boyd,
A wee Glasgow wummin who is a little bit disabled and a big bit funny, spent her 20s travelling the world and 30s adjusting to a new way of life brought about by poor health, now settled back in Scotland she has found her happy place on the Glasgow Comedy circuit. Her observational often cruelly self deprecating style
has entertained audiences from Inverness to London with tales of world travel, life as a young stroke survivor and whatever random nonsense pops into her head at the time, prompting one young fan to proclaim her to be "not shite".

Safeena Rashid
Safeena Rashid isn't new or old to comedy. Somewhere in between but still knows she's got a lot to learn. On her comedy journey she has learned that she loves standing in front of people and helping them laugh. As a Scottish female Muslim of Pakistani origin, Safeena uses comedy as a stereotype breaker and a friend maker

Mona Mae
Host
Mona Mae is a saucy southern belle and senior citizen transplanted here in Scotland. There is no telling what will come out of her mouth
